Boly:Welch In the Community

One of our top priorities at Boly:Welch is giving back to the community that has made it possible for us to thrive. Here are three ways we empower our team to get involved and serve the organizations that matter most to them:

1. Paid Volunteer Time

Our employees have 96 paid hours of community volunteering built into their benefits package each year.

Team members are encouraged to take time during the workday to sort produce at the Oregon Food Bank, participate in SOLVE Oregon’s neighborhood clean-ups, weed garden beds at Zenger Farms, contribute to painting a Portland Means Progress mural in inner Southeast — and so much more.

Employees also have the option of flexing work hours to accommodate volunteering opportunities (like serving on boards) outside of the typical 9–5.

2. Internal Volunteer Committee

We have an internal committee called B:Connected that seeks out volunteering opportunities and fundraising campaigns for our team to engage with.

Most recently, B:Connected coordinated a school supplies and backpack drive benefitting the children served by Rose Haven and Youth Villages. In addition to collecting supplies, the committee also raised money through a summer fruit edition of the Great Boly Bake-Off!

3. Matching Program for Donations

In 2022, we launched a matching program for donations made by our team members to organizations of their choosing, to help their dollars go farther.

We make it our business to back the organizations making Portland a healthy, vibrant, and livable workplace.
