The Process

The Team

As Director of Executive Search, Debbie oversees our search practice. Deeply skilled in operational management and business development, she brings more than 25 years of experience in growing successful teams and delivering innovative business solutions. She brings deep knowledge of leadership development and talent acquisition to work on our clients’ behalf. Her valuable insight into human capital and best practices was honed through extensive work in recruiting and management consulting. As Head of Executive Search at Boly:Welch, Debbie works with companies to deliver comprehensive retained search capabilities. She also holds a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC) certification, reflecting her tenure and knowledge of recruitment industry.

Jennifer is our Executive Search Consultant. She joined Boly:Welch from ScanlanKemperBard, a commercial real estate investment firm based in Portland. In her previous role as VP of Investor Relations, she spearheaded marketing initiatives for new acquisitions while overseeing investor communications. With a career spanning over a decade in advertising agencies in both Portland and Los Angeles, Jennifer has a track record of building brands for emerging tech and Fortune 500 companies. Her expertise extends to Executive recruiting, where she delivers strategic and tailored solutions to meet the needs of organizations seeking executive-level hires. Jennifer understands the unique requirements and demands of executive-level positions, allowing her to partner with clients in their search for exceptional leaders.

Pat is the co-founder and CEO of Boly:Welch. After 38 years, she continues to happily manage our 40+ person staff. Whether nurturing a client through the search process or serving on local non-profit boards, relationships have always driven Pat. She spent ten years on the boards of Bridge Meadows and CASA for Children of Multnomah, Washington, Columbia, & Tillamook Counties, including three years as CASA board chair. Her dedication to community service is legendary, as is her advocacy for vulnerable populations. In 2022, Pat received the Portland Business Journal’s Joan Austin Lifetime Achievement Award, which had been awarded to just five women before her.

Abby Engers, J.D., SHRM-CP, is a sourcing specialist and HR consultant. She’s held a number of different roles at Boly:Welch, including as a direct hire recruiter and contract temporary recruiter. Before she joined Boly:Welch, she was a practicing attorney. Abby provides customized sourcing, hiring plans, DEI resources, and hiring best practice guidance for clients, as well as outplacement consulting services for client companies undergoing organizational change.

Kathleen, our Director of Client Relations, builds meaningful and successful long-term relationships through a high-touch and personal approach. She spends time to personally understand the professional drivers of our business partnerships, establishing Boly:Welch as a preferred search partner. Before joining Boly:Welch, Kathleen worked for national corporate entities such as Eastman Kodak. Her leadership and broad vision provide guidance to many exciting projects nationally and here at home. Kathleen believes relationships are the heart of business. Her consultative approach, understanding business personnel and today’s changing climate, brings added value to solve some of today’s most pressing human resource challenges.
