About Us

Boly:Welch is the premier recruitment agency in the Pacific Northwest.

We have been recognized for over 35 years for the great work we do: putting people front and center in the hiring process.

Who We Are

Boly:Welch was founded in 1986 by Diane Boly and Pat Welch with a vision driven by community connections and matching talented people with great job opportunities.

As a women-owned and -led business, our office has grown to include over 45 employees in Portland’s historic Power + Light Building — a work environment that brings out the best in all of us!

2022 was a BIG year for Boly:Welch. We renewed our commitment to our hometown of Portland, Oregon, and the people who make this city work.

Curious about how we leveled up and served our community in 2022? Take a look through the year with us in our Impact Report!

Sustainability

We’re committed to practices that meet the needs of the present without comprising the future, and to suppliers that represent local or underserved communities. Learn more about this commitment at Portland Means Progress.

We’ve developed strategies and purchasing policies that enable us to move toward sustainability while enhancing the value we bring to our clients, job seekers, employees, and community:

  • Minimum of 30% post-consumer recycled paper and paper products; 100% where possible
  • Use real dishes and glassware instead of single-use items in our office kitchen
  • Recycle everything possible
  • Utilize electronic documents instead of paper copies when possible
  • Offer internal employee subsidies for public transportation and bicycle commuting
  • Daily composting of food scraps in our office kitchen
  • Reusable toner and ink cartridges
  • Low flow toilets in lavatories and low flow faucets in the office kitchen
  • Office remodeled to maximize energy efficiency
  • Energy Star 5.0 | EPEAT Silver compliant computer monitors for the entire office

B Corp Certified

We’re proud to be part of a global movement to use business as a force for good, and our success depends on the economic vitality, social equity, and health of the community where we all live, work, and prosper.

That means we’ve worked hard to meet the rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency for B Corporation certification — along with nearly 150 other Oregon companies that share this designation.
