Dougy Center: The National Grief Center for Children & Families is a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to children, teens, and families who are grieving before and after a death. With a compassionate and inclusive approach, the center offers a safe and nurturing environment where families can navigate their grief journey.
Since its founding in 1982, Dougy Center has become a trusted resource in the community, offering a wide range of programs, support groups, training, and community response. Through their innovative and evidence-based approach, they help individuals and families navigate loss, find solace, and connect with others who have similar experiences.
Dougy Center is committed to fostering resilience and promoting healthy outcomes, ensuring that no one has to face the journey of grief alone.
Dougy Center is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced leader who can effectively scale the organization while fostering a mission-driven culture within a diverse team. The ideal Chief Operations Officer will possess the strategic acumen to translate the organization’s vision into measurable and effective outcomes. Working with the Executive Director, the COO will demonstrate the ability to efficiently operationalize processes and lead sustainable organizational change at scale in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
It is crucial for the COO to be skilled in empowering and leveraging the talents of team members, recognizing the unique strengths they bring to the mission, while continuing to create and foster an inclusive and equitable organization. While implementing efficient systems to enhance productivity is important, maintaining what makes Dougy Center unique is equally vital. The successful candidate will demonstrate both the ability to optimize operational processes and an understanding of the importance of balancing an innovative spirit with upholding the mission that drives Dougy Center forward.
The COO will provide the internal structure and leadership that allows the CEO/ED to maintain Dougy Center’s external face; emphasis will be on refining priorities, ensuring viable planning, and aligning the organizational resources to meet agreed upon goals.
