What Matters Most:

  • 5+ years HR management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred
  • Non-profit experience strongly preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred


Your New Role:
Boly:Welch is engaging in an exclusive search with Do Good Multnomah to find their next HR Director: someone with tenacity, flexibility, communications expertise, and an interest in taking full ownership of work processes. A focus on relationship-building with a diverse and engaged staff, many of whom have lived experience that mirrors Do Good Multnomah’s service population, will be very important.

You’ll deliver professional HR consultation that addresses a broad spectrum of employee relations and performance issues, while also establishing and maintaining processes for performance evaluation. Your leadership skills will empower you to conduct individual and group trainings, foster team cohesion, and oversee work plans and disciplinary action as needed.

In addition, you’ll research labor markets and pay equity best practices, develop and manage equitable recruitment and hiring strategies and procedures, and monitor processes for consistency and efficiency. Engaging in Do Good’s equity, inclusion, and anti-racism initiatives at the full-staff, program-specific, and individual levels will be a key component of this role.

Do Good Multnomah is a nonprofit organization that partners with the community to provide supportive housing and low-barrier emergency shelter to houseless veterans in Portland. With an emphasis on relationship-building, one-on-one engagement, supportive services, and direct community participation, they’re changing the way the houseless population of our city is served. The culture and care they strive to provide to their shelter participants at Do Good Multnomah is extremely important.
