Boly:Welch

Job Number: 14416

Salary: $72K-$100K DOE

Industry: Nonprofit

What Matters Most:

  • 3+ years of communications experience required
  • 2+ years in guiding or organizing diversity, equity, and inclusion events and/or programming required
  • Experience in the non-profit sector a big plus

Your New Role:
You’re a passionate leader dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion — and are excited to be at the intersection of communications and programming for the human-centric support Partners in Diversity curates.

You’re looking to use your communication chops to carry out the mission of creating a competitive advantage in Oregon and SW Washington through educational programs and events. Not only can you write a compelling speech and manage consistent branding and voice in external materials, but you’re excited to take on programs like the NW Equity Summit and educational offerings like Breakfast for Champions.

As Director of Communications and Programs at Partners in Diversity, you’ll work to ensure programming is meeting member expectations and needs. You’ll collaborate closely with a team — including the Communications Specialist and Program Coordinator — and will build relationships with other organizations to design materials and programming to help employers recruit, retain, and support professionals of color.

The Partners in Diversity team is looking for someone with a proven track record of managing simultaneous projects (with a focus on communications) and delegating tasks to internal teams for deadline-driven projects.

This is a hybrid position, with three days in-office each week.

Your New Organization:
In 2005, major employers in Oregon and Southwest Washington joined forces as the Portland Workplace Diversity Task Force to cooperatively support more diversity in the workplace and in the community. Inspired by a rising shift in demographics as indicated by the 2000 U.S. Census, the task force sought to examine regional information and develop a business case for corporate diversity initiatives. The result was a strategic plan which integrates the many ongoing initiatives in the region under one umbrella with a strong business focus. From there, Partners in Diversity was formalized to take this plan forward.

Partners in Diversity is an affiliate of Portland Business Alliance’s Charitable Institute, a 501(c)3 organization. They have an excellent reputation and collaborate with over 200 member employers that pledge to cultivate inclusive work environments and diversify their staff.

Compensation includes a great benefits package with medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; PTO and 15 paid holidays; a 401(k) with employer match up to 6%. You’ll also enjoy paid parking (or a Trimet pass) and a hybrid work schedule!
