Michelle Cannici
MICHELLE CANNICI, Sr. Executive Assistant to Columbia Brand President

Michelle is a seasoned Executive Assistant known for her adaptability, discretion, and strategic support. With over 20 years of experience supporting senior executives across Portland’s business landscape — including roles at Nike and Xerox — she’s navigated high-level communications, global logistics, and fast-paced environments with ease. Michelle thrives in the center of the action, acting like a flight controller to keep priorities aligned and momentum moving. She often partners with newly hired executives, helping them understand how to effectively work with Executive Assistants, and brings a calm, solutions-focused mindset to every challenge. A former college soccer goal keeper, she now coaches her daughter’s team — channeling the same leadership, intuition, and team-first mentality that define her professional approach.

April MacFarlan
APRIL MACFARLAN, Executive Assistant to the CEO & President of Greenbrier Companies, Inc.

With over two decades of experience supporting senior leaders in fast-paced corporate environments, April brings deep expertise as an Executive Assistant. Her career spans organizations like Mars Veterinary Health, Banfield Pet Hospital, and WE Communications, where she has built a reputation for calm precision, strategic partnership, and behind-the-scenes leadership. Known for her ability to anticipate needs, manage complexity, and foster trust at the highest levels, April offers an insightful perspective on how the Executive Assistant role has evolved — and the skills that make it indispensable today.

Theresa Rivas
THERESA RIVAS, Vice President and Chief Executive Assistant at Beneficial State Bank

Theresa is a strategic executive assistant serving as VP, Chief Executive Assistant at Beneficial State Bank, a mission-driven community development financial institution (CDFI). She partners closely with the CEO, leads a team of executive assistants, and ensures seamless executive operations while fostering strong relationships across the leadership team and Board of Directors. Known for her people-centered leadership and passion for learning, development, and process optimization, Theresa brings a strategic lens to the Executive Assistant profession — one grounded in operational excellence, relationship-building, and purpose-driven impact.

Mary Zuleger
MARY ZULEGER, Global Executive Assistant at Wieden+Kennedy

Mary is an experienced Executive Assistant at Wieden+Kennedy, where she supports global leaders across PR, HR, and Finance. Since joining the company in 2008 — first as an office manager at JOINT Editorial and later supporting the Portland management team — Mary has become a trusted partner known for her adaptability, calm under pressure, and deep understanding of creative company culture. She brings both grounded perspective and decades of real-world experience to conversations about the evolving role of Executive Assistants.
