Your New Role:

Boly:Welch is proud to partner with Nakamoto Forestry, the world’s largest manufacturer of Yakisugi (also known as Shou Sugi Ban), as they make a pivotal hire: a General Manager set to lead with purpose, clarity, and passion.

This is a rare opportunity to join a one-of-a-kind organization that blends traditional Japanese craftsmanship with sustainable, modern business practices. As General Manager, you will work alongside the President to execute the company’s business strategy and oversee day-to-day operations. You will support key functions, including production, sales, marketing, and business operations, while mentoring dedicated teams and driving process improvements that enhance quality, culture, and growth.

In this role, you will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and supportive of the purpose behind the product: a timeless building material crafted with care. Through your leadership, Nakamoto Forestry will continue to scale sustainably while honoring the craft and values that set them apart

Responsibilities & Duties

Business Leadership & Operations:

  • Lead cross-functional teams and uphold a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Manage administrative operations across departments, including IT and maintenance, supply procurement for office, marketing, and production
  • Partner with HR on hiring and employee development
  • Cultivate strong supplier and customer relationships

Production Oversight:

  • Manage day-to-day operations, including inventory, scheduling, procurement, maintenance, and quality control
  • Improve SOPs and implement continuous improvement strategies (Kaizen, QA/QC)
  • Support equipment upgrades, facilities improvements, and overall operational excellence

Sales & Marketing Collaboration:

  • Support sales strategy, CRM management, training, and logistics coordination
  • Partner with marketing on brand messaging, content creation, vendor coordination, and budget oversight
  • Ensure alignment between sales, marketing, and production for seamless order fulfillment

Financial & Strategic Planning:

  • Review financials and assist in budgeting with department heads
  • Establish and track KPIs in collaboration with the President
  • Help shape and execute long-term strategic plans
